13:Eight is our downtown evangelism team. Our dedicated volunteers work on the streets of Limavady to provide a safe and caring presence in our community’s night–time scene. We walk through the town and talk to those we encounter about the transforming gospel message of Jesus Christ and the hope He brings. We also respond to many different situations that those in our town at night–time may encounter, from hailing a taxi for someone, to reconnecting them with loved ones, or dealing with safeguarding issues. We are always willing to lend a listening ear to anyone who may need support. We also regularly give out items that those on a night out may find helpful, such as flip–flops, water bottles, and blankets. And if someone wants prayer, we're more than happy to pray as well.
We take our mission very seriously. We're usually on patrol from 12am to 3am on a Friday or Saturday night to care for, listen to and help people who are out on the streets. We don’t go out to Bible–bash or promote one church/denomination or discriminate. We want to act as Jesus would on the streets of Limavady: available and willing to help all with practical, yet more importantly, spiritual help.
