COVID–19 Precautions and Procedures
Last modified: February 2022
The Northern Ireland Executive has met with the four major churches in Northern Ireland and has consulted with Evangelical Alliance to decide on the safest and best approach to return to in–person worship services. Therefore, we have decided to return to in–person gatherings. We have done the appropriate risk assessments and can offer a safe return to our services.
We want to ensure that you and everyone else attending Limavady Baptist in–person has a blessed experience whilst staying safe, so we're putting a number of safeguards in place to help prevent the spread of infection:
- All our services will be socially–distanced. If you're new to our church building, your contact details will be held for track and trace purposes for 21 days.
- We will provide hand sanitisers on entry into the building and at the exit point.
- We encourage elbow bumps and smiles, rather than our typical handshakes and hugs.
- If you, or a member of your household, has been in recent contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID–19, please do not come to the service unless you have either tested negative or completed the recommended period for self–isolation.
- Face coverings are NOT required when attending our church gatherings. However, we strongly recommend the use of face coverings while seated and singing, as although they may not prevent you from becoming infected with the virus, face coverings help prevent you from spreading it to others if you’re unaware you’re infected (some people don’t have any symptoms, especially early in the infection). If you forget your face mask at home, we’ll have them available for you.
- There will be a one–way system in operation. Entry to the building will be by our car park entrance only, and exit will be through main sanctuary fire escape doors.
- Whilst toilet facilities will be available, we ask that they only be used if necessary, adhering to the guidelines whilst doing so.
- We have air purification procedures in place for the building, before and after services.
- If you do test positive for the virus and have attended our services in the last few weeks, please inform us as soon as possible.
